Cocobetaine (coco amido propyl betaine and CAPB, cocamidopropyl betaine) is a surfactant derived from coconut oil, which is sticky, yellow liquid slightly fatty acids from coconut and propylene glycol. It produces rich, dense foam that conditions skin. It is the most widely used mild amphoteric surfactant. It contains both natural and synthetic elements.
The coco in the name refers to coconut oil. It is used in the formulation of shampoos, body wash, baby wash and other products. Manufacturers use it in personal hygiene, etc
